They really try to push their house brands because they get a bigger cut than selling products that they are only marking up a small amount. Because it's a terrible way to make money long-term.

Of course, if you are plunking down 2 grand for a TV and can insure it for X-number of years for 20 percent of that cost, most people would opt for the insurance just so that they're not out anything if the TV happens to break.
